Certainly not by brainstorming, but by a state of inspiration that we are all familiar with which is akin to falling I love. Think back to a time when you fell in love. It’s doesn’t matter how old we are when it hits, we fly. It’s because to a great extent, we allow ourselves, somewhat unconsciously, to lose control about what happens, we just follow our feelings. The mind is rarely involved; it is a matter of the heart. It is a feeling of lightness, joy, light-heartedness, and flow in the moment. In such moments, you can pull off anything, even though your job, your boss, your employer, and the world hasn’t changed a bit. You simply let go, and follow through with your energy, not against it, and open yourself up to whatever happens. And as long as the situation continues, only one thing is vital – that you don’t hold on for dear life out of fear that it might all disappear. For as long as you can linger in this trust, and dare to discover the present moment, and enjoy the overflowing energy, you will experience a “golden age of Inspiration” in all aspects of your life. Simply put, weave your heart and your mind together on one strand in the same direction – that is inspiration.
In a corporate context, that certainly doesn’t mean that you have to fall in love with your coworkers, boss, clients, suppliers or shareholders, but if you immerse yourself in the same kind of flow, you will achieve similar results. The password is awareness. What do I mean by that? Do you remember the inherent potential of one’s mission ? I couldn’t have simply conceived of a mission in life, it is something that continuously unfolds itself like a red thread through my life, which took hold as soon as I was ready to open up to my senses and see straight through to my potential throughout life crises and jolting turning points in my life. That is mindfulness, a consciousness, which allows us to see our true potential beyond our unconscious or conscious judgements.
If you choose to engage in judging others, not only will you put them in a cage, but yourself as well. The chances that a caged bird will want to fly away are low. So if I myself live with this awareness, I allow not only myself to live out my highest potential, but also all of the people in my surroundings. Behavior coming from this awareness leads to inspiration for all. In contrast to our previous behavior, we take joy in making mistakes, because without trying, nothing is possible.
Especially keep in mind, if you lead your team by fear, pressure, and incentives, it can have an enormous effect on your drive over a short period of time, but in the long run, it can also have disastrous effects on innovation, because then nobody is open to make mistakes. Instead of taking a new route, we search for consensus with the herd, and live far below our potential, no matter in what position and at what level in the hierarchy you may be. Even worse, when we are driven by fear, consciously or unconsciously, we use up so much energy in hiding ourselves, so that nobody can know, perceive, or sense how we truly see ourselves or the world. The result: We run like mad at 120% and produce a lot of activity that uses up a ton of business resources, which is often connected to a competition having to do with limited resources. At the same time, our efficacy turns out to be way under a 100%.
Using awareness as a password for inspiration and intuition helps all of us to access collective consciousness, which leads us to intelligent and sustainable solutions for the complex challenges of the future – which serve us all.
